A TUROG Foundation Project

You can't really build if you can't sleep at night.

A rent-free year of good housing. We sort the roof — you focus on what's next.

The problem

Hard work hits a ceiling when rent is the daily worry.

We take rent off the table for a year. That alone changes a lot.

Living in poor housing

A year of stable rest is often all someone needs to change direction.

The year, in three phases

Catch your breath. Build. Move on.

Rest Month 1

Rest

Settle in. Health check. Get oriented. For many people, the first month is just sleeping properly again.

Build Months 2 — 10

Build

Career Hub, training, job placement, saving habits. The work you've been trying to do, with somewhere to actually do it from.

Move on Months 11 — 12

Move on

Plan the next place — your own rental, a homeownership path, or a move for work. We help you land it.

The Career Hub

The free year isn't a holiday.

It's a runway. Inside every NAIJA Homes complex, residents have what they need to actually get hired or get going.

  • Job referrals through vetted Nigerian employers
  • Skills programs in tech and creative work (3 – 9 months)
  • Money basics and saving habits coaching
  • 1-on-1 mentorship in your target field
  • On-site co-working and decent internet
  • A monthly check-in with a transition coach

How we know it worked

We don't count handouts. We count what changed.

Did people land steady work? Did they move into their own place? Are they sleeping and feeling better than when they arrived? Those are the answers we look for.

Steady work

Moving from informal or no income into stable, contracted jobs.

A place of their own

Stepping from the free year into independent rental or ownership.

Better health

Real gains in sleep, stress and physical health that stick.

Who we're looking for

Ready to use the year well?

We're not running a means test. We're looking for people who have a plan and will actually use the runway. Open to everyone.
